Maven

Environment variables required for Maven are

M2_HOME and MAVEN_HOME both should be point to same folder
Note : By Maven documentation it is said to have only M2_Home

PATH --> include Maven bin directory

To verify maven installation

mvn -- version

To download the artifacts

mvn  archetype:generate

To compile the maven application we should be in pon.xml directory and give below command

mvn compile

To package the application use the below command

mvn package

To clean the generated class files

mvn clear

Maven Local repository

Maven local repository is a local folder that is used to store all your project dependencies..


By default Maven local repository is .m2 folder

Unix/Mac OS : ~/.m2
Windows : c:/Users/<your- username>/.m2

To change the Maven default location we need to do the following changes

{M2_HOME}/conf/setting.xml we will find localRepository to update like below

      <settings>
        <localRepository>c:/Maven_repository<.localRepository>
